Content that funds free first aid training.
Project 1000 is part of my social enterprise work at SafeServe First Aid. Money earned through content, not from business bookings, gets set aside. Once it covers the cost of one course, I deliver free, fully accredited Essential Life Support training to someone from the public.
Why I'm doing this
I want more members of the public trained in first aid. I can't afford to deliver every course for free, running SafeServe is how I make a living, so the courses I sell to businesses stay exactly that: paid, and separate from this project.
What I can do is take the content I'm already building for SafeServe's social channels and put a genuine purpose behind it. If that content earns money through platform monetisation, such as a creator fund, that money isn't mine to keep as profit. I'd rather it go toward training someone who might not otherwise get the chance.
How it actually works
Content earns money
Platforms like TikTok pay creators through schemes such as a creator fund, based on views and engagement on the videos I post.
That money is set aside
Only content earnings go into the Project 1000 pot. Course bookings and payments from businesses are kept entirely separate and fund the business as normal.
A free place is funded
Once the pot covers the cost of one course, I find someone from the public and give them a fully accredited place, free of charge.
Content earnings from platforms like TikTok start small and grow slowly until an account has real reach, so the first free place will take time. Following, liking, commenting and sharing the content genuinely speeds that up, and I'll post honestly about progress as it happens.

Questions people ask
Is this just a gimmick?
No. The mechanism is real: content earnings are genuinely set aside, separately from the business, and a real, accredited course really does get given away once the pot covers it.
Does this affect my business booking?
No. Business bookings and course fees fund SafeServe as normal and are never part of the Project 1000 pot. The two are kept deliberately separate.
Who gets the free place?
Someone from the public, not a business. I'll share how each person is chosen as the project reaches its first milestone.
