What affects the price of a first aid course
- Course type and length. A 1-day EFAW course costs less than a 3-day FAW qualification, simply because there's more contact time and content.
- Group size. Larger groups usually bring the per-person price down, but very large groups can mean less hands-on time per learner.
- Onsite vs venue delivery. Training at your premises avoids venue hire costs and staff travel time. Training centre delivery may look cheaper per head but doesn't always account for the time your team spends travelling.
- Live-taught vs generic e-learning. Some "blended" courses hand you a pre-recorded module for the online day. Live-taught online sessions cost more to deliver, because a trainer is actually presenting and answering questions, not just hosting a video.
- Accreditation and awarding body. HSE-recognised, Ofqual-regulated qualifications from a proper awarding body carry more overhead than an unaccredited "awareness" session, and that's usually reflected in price.

Why we price the way we do
Higher first aid prices tend to push businesses toward training the bare legal minimum, rather than as many staff as would genuinely help. We've deliberately kept pricing accessible, so it's realistic to train more of your team, not just the one designated first aider, because more trained people on shift means better coverage when it actually matters.

Why do first aid course prices vary so much between providers?
Mainly group size, whether training is delivered at your premises or a training centre, group size caps, and how much of the course is live-taught versus generic e-learning. National providers with call-centre booking and large group sizes can price differently from a local trainer running small, hands-on sessions.
Is cheaper first aid training worth avoiding?
Not necessarily, but it's worth checking what's included: is the certificate HSE-recognised, is the online portion genuinely live-taught or just a video module, and how big are the groups. Price alone doesn't tell you what you're getting.
Does onsite delivery cost more than sending staff to a venue?
Not with us, our per-person pricing is the same either way. Onsite delivery usually works out cheaper overall once you account for staff travel time and the venue hire a training centre would otherwise charge for.
